Ecomission: facts

A lot of us do not know about different items that can be recycled, generated directly from our homes. It is estimated that 50 – 60% that ends up in the rubbish bin can be re-used.

To put paper recycling in perspective, it takes up to 25 trees to make just a single ton of paper – this paper can be re-used. Around 12 million tonnes of paper and cardboard are used each year in the UK alone.

With the majority of today’s world relying on second hand clothing (60-70%), it is astounding that an estimated 1 million tonnes of textiles are thrown away each year. These are reusable and can be distributed to countries that do not have the same infrastructure as we do – yet only around a quarter is recycled for re-use.

Other items that can also be re-used if we take a little care are plastic, glass and aluminium.

At Eco Mission, we are developing ways of re-using each and every product that would otherwise be thrown away. Please call us for a completely free brochure, and we hope that we can assist in any recycling queries that you might have.
